Eastern Africans people are the descendants of European waves of migrations that settled in Eastern Africa from Eastern Europe, between 20,000 years ago and 10,000 years ago. Eastern Africans are not related to their other Africans neighbors (Bantu...etc). Recent waves of migrations hundreds of years ago pushed some nomadic communites to settle down in the south, in Kenya,Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi...to mix with the communities found in those regions. Tutsi people in Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and Congo are the result of a mix between the former nomads and the populations found in the area(Bantu and pygmies). Pygmies are the original inhabitants of Central Africa.

 In Burundi and Rwanda pygmies descendants account for more than 60% of the population. They were assimilated to the Bantu and are now classified as "Hutu". The remaining pygmies who did not assimilate to the mainstream population as referred as "Batwa" and live in small communities.

There are still some similarites between Tutsi another Eastern Africans. The cattle(ankole breed) for example is the same.

There had been genocides that affected millions of Tutsi and moderate Hutu. Somalia suffered a civil war that resulted in a huge crisis in the country and mass refugees. Today, we can find Somali communities in Canada, United States, United Kingdom , Scandinavia, Saudi Arabia etc.
